Stephany Castilla is an Ottawa-based oil painter and still-life artist who has been drawing and painting from an early age. Stephany’s portfolio includes many styles and subjects, she particularly loves flowers and vintage objects for their bright and vibrant colours and the joy it brings to her her canvas. Influenced by loose realism, Stephany has a passion for exploring the beauty of everyday things and the wonder of nature through colour and light. While a majority of her works are focused on still life, she also enjoys landscape painting.
More than 30 years of experience goes into every stroke of Stephany Castilla’s paintbrush. Her love of colour and light was sparked in the Fine Art Program at the High School of Commerce, which later became Canterbury Arts High School, in Ottawa. At Commerce, she learned the fundamentals of drawing, painting, and illustration.
With her artistic foundations in place, she pursued her education in Graphic Design and had a successful 30-year career while continuing to paint in a variety of mediums.
Stephany’s work has been displayed at Algonquin College, the CARDELREC Recreation Complex, Center Point Theatre, the Stittsville Artist tour, Ottawa Public Library locations, Orange Gallery, Tette Centre for Learning and Creativity in Kingston, Ron Masslin Playhouse, and with private collectors.
