Posy is a self-taught artist from Kanata, Ontario, who finds peace and expression through her landscape paintings. Using oil paints, she creates vibrant, soothing scenes that offer a window into a world of light and color. Her work is deeply personal, shaped by her experiences with depression and anxiety. Posy has exhibited at various Ottawa and area art shows and festivals, and currently has artwork displayed in the Maureen McAuliff Art Gallery and Studio in Merrickville and the Kanata Civic Art Gallery. She is also a member of the West Carleton Arts Society, Arts Carleton Place, and the Merrickville Artists Guild.
Artist Statement Being creative is my therapy. I find my happy, calm place in the process of creating something beautiful. My landscape paintings are creations of images that aspire to soothe the soul and wrap the viewer in warmth and light. I greatly enjoy the peace of nature and I strive to design a window into a world that comforts the heart and brightens the spirit. I love the strong pigments of oil paints and often find myself creating a brighter, more colourful world than the eye would normally see. I manage major depressive disorder and severe social anxiety. Being creative is my outlet, it is my life, it is my peace of mind. |
