Jane was born in Montreal Quebec, and moved to Arnprior as a small child.
She was always fascinated with nature…especially bugs! Creating bugs and creatures with anything she could find was her favourite way to pass time.
As an adult, this urge to create never stopped. Jane found a little book from England about wire sculpture and this led to a passion for creating wearable wire art jewellery. She is truly a “self taught” artist!
Twisted Sister Creations was born, and Jane enjoyed many years of creating her whimsical jewellery. Jane shared her love of jewellery through teaching at Haliburton School of the Arts (Flemming College) and at several venues around Ottawa and the US. She was also featured on a popular television show, Regional Contact.
After Jane’s mother passed away, rather suddenly, she felt the need to evolve and try something on a larger scale. She had taken a fabric sculpting class, just for fun, years before, and decided to play around with it again. It was an instant addiction and she hasn’t stopped since!
The freedom and flexibility of working on a larger scale was enchanting!
Jane’s work can be found in several galleries and shops, and at art shows in the Ottawa area. Her pieces have found homes in Canada, United States and Europe.
