Donna McPhail

Donna’s art journey started with textiles; she attended Sheridan College School of Crafts and Design for 3 years to study textile design, and then moved to Halifax to attend the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, where she studied Art Education. After moving back to Ontario, she began her teaching career as a high school art teacher and taught for 25 years.
Donna’s love of nature is evident in her up-close and detailed flower portraits, which celebrate the colours and patterns found in nature. She is a big Georgia O’Keefe fan!
Her series of quirky anthropomorphic birds contain humorous examples of human qualities or characteristics to make you smile. She works in acrylics.
Now retired and living in Perth, Donna is a member of the Rideau Lakes Artists Association and the Kanata Civic Art Gallery, and she was a founding member and organizer of Art Works! Perth. She has been involved with studio tours and group shows since 2018 and some of her paintings have found their way to Australia and France. Donna is the Art Curator for the Studio Theatre foyer in Perth, Ontario.
