Monique Huneault

My medium of choice is watercolor painted either on Arches paper 140 pds or on Acid free tissue paper.

I am inspired by the natural world and its light and shadows.

When working on Acid free tissue paper my paintings are done more intuitively and less realistically.

What dominates in my artworks is transparency, depth, perspective where the eye circulates through lines, shapes, shadows and the white of the paper.

To create texture, I mount the Acid free tissue paper with a roller onto another watercolor paper. This creates wrinkles and gives more textures. After, practically everything is paint in the negative.

When working on Arches paper, I always try to show texture in the artwork.
