Mark Stephenson is a visual artist and designer based in Kanata. Art has been a constant thread throughout Mark’s design career that has been expressed in art projects, installations, life drawing, portraiture and volunteering with a focus on creating and nurturing opportunities for artists locally and on the national level.
Mark likes to draw, paint and create art inspired by the people and world around him. The experience matters, feeling a connection roots him to the work, whether it be a person, place, bird or something else. This leads Mark to work from life or in the studio from his own studies and references. Lately, Mark has been captivated by the beauty of his Kanata neighbourhood that includes Beaver Pond. Daily walks provide unlimited inspiration for his drawings and paintings.
