Suzanne’s experience with creating art started over 16 years ago, during a difficult time in her life. She discovered the power of art by cutting up magazines into tiny pieces and then making the pictures into a collage. For Suzanne, her art was not just about the finished product, it quickly became an outlet for understanding her emotions and contributed greatly to her well-being.
In 2004 Suzanne received her graduate level diploma in art therapy from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute. Recently she began making images on paper as a way to meditate. Starting with what she calls ‘mindful drawings’, her creations soon took on the form of images. Suzanne started enlarging these images onto sheets of watercolour paper, and then outlining them in black. Adding dots around the image using the end of a paintbrush, Suzanne works came to their fruition.
