I’m a woodturner who lives on the edge of Ottawa surrounded by my raw material, trees. About ten years ago, I discovered the joy of making beautiful wooden bowls and other pieces using a lathe and my creativity. After learning from several excellent teachers, and spending lots of time figuring things out by trial and error (which involves making vast piles of wood chips), I decided it’s time to share my work and my love of this art form with others. I especially enjoy embedding treasures such as pieces of paua shells from New Zealand in the rims of my bowls.
I am an active member of the Ottawa Valley Woodturners’ club where I meet and share the tips and hints of how to create these special pieces.
I hope you enjoy seeing the things I make!
