Kate Ryckman is an acrylic mix media artist currently living in Stittsville, Ontario, with her
husband and four children. She is an accomplished artist who has studied art and photography at
Sheridan College, Humber College, and the Ottawa School of Art. In 2010, she opened an art school
recognized as “Artist Kate” and now teaches adult and children art programs from both her in-
home art studio, wellness studios and offsite locations including local school boards. Her work has
been displayed in a variety of art shows, galleries, boutique shops, and private collections all over
the world since 2001.
Her artwork is inspired mostly by the beautiful treasures Mother Nature creates for us. In a world
full of technology she is drawn to the things we cannot control, and is aspiring to share the simple
beauty of the world around us. With a passion for color and texture, she creates a visual depth
inviting you into her work as a participant. Kate’s art has a whimsical feel that captures her playful
side and reminds us to smile or simply take a breath.
Kate’s unwavering goal is to inspire others to unleash their inner artist. Her fun, upbeat personality
and whimsical approach to creativity helps encourage artists of all ages and skill level to stretch
their creative limits and realize the beauty that can be found in their own imperfections. Artist Kate
enthusiastically shows all budding artists that art can be fun, it can be messy, and that mistakes can
reveal the most beautiful surprises.
